Earn Miles

Earn LifeMiles on all the flights operated by Avianca that are eligible for accrual; always provide your LifeMiles frequent flyer number when you make a reservation on Avianca or during Check-In at the airport. If you did not include your number when making the reservation, you can also make it up to 24 hours before your flight departure.

The miles you earn on Avianca flights qualify to your Elite status in LifeMiles. In this table you can verify the miles you will earn and receive to qualify according to the Cabin and Class of the ticket that you bought.

1. The minimum number of miles that will be accumulated and applies to all LifeMiles members.
2. The number of qualifying miles to upgrade or maintain the LifeMiles Elite status: The percentage by which flown miles are multiplied to calculate the qualifying miles that correspond to the purchased fare.
3. Qualifying Flights/Segments based on the purchased fare that will help you upgrade or maintain the LifeMiles Elite status.

General accumulation terms and conditions

  • Miles may be accrued since the beginning of the membership, when the member has their LifeMiles account number. The number of miles accrued depends on the valid conditions of accumulation of the program at the moment of using the services.
  • To ensure the mileage accrual for any applicable transaction, the member must present their LifeMiles number when booking on Avianca.
  • The member must keep the flight documents until miles are accumulated in their account.
  • Members will be able to track the accumulation of miles in their accounts through the account statements sent monthly to their email address if this was provided or through LifeMiles.com. It is responsibility of the member to ensure that the miles earned are accrued correctly into their account, for which Avianca may request supporting documents, which may include boarding pass, invoices and other.
  • Any complaint about the LifeMiles statement must be reported within twelve (12) months following the transaction. No claims will be received after this period of time. The request for accrual of miles not registered in the member's account, can be made through the Call Center or visiting an information center.
  • You can request mileage credit for past transactions that meet the requirements, up to twelve (12) months after the date of transaction according to the terms and conditions herein, submitting supporting documentation required. LifeMiles reserves the right to verify all documentation submitted for extemporaneous accreditation.

Enjoy your Miles

You may use your LifeMiles to redeem airline tickets or for upgrades to Business Class on the eligible flights operated by Avianca.

Redeemed tickets: You can use your miles to redeem roundtrip, one way or Multi-city tickets:

When you redeem you tickets with Avianca, you have the option to choose between 5 redemption products: two in Business Cabin and three in Economy Cabin, including the product “All seats” where you can find any seat, at any moment; and the product “Seat Sale” where you will find tickets using less miles. Terms and conditions apply according to each product.

General terms and conditions for redemption tickets:

  • Applicable flights for redemption tickets are those operated by Avianca and TACA.
  • Avianca and TACA may change the routes and/or flights available for redemption without prior notice.
  • LifeMiles Terms and conditions apply and may change without prior notice.

Business or First Class upgrades: You can use your LifeMiles to redeem Upgrades to Business Class in flights operated by Avianca.

  • In international routes operated by Avianca, all fares are eligible for upgrade redemption.
  • In domestic flights within Colombia operated by Avianca, all fare are eligible for upgrade redemption except for the Promo fare.
  • Upgrades are subject to availability in Class I
  • Eligible Avianca flights for upgrade redemption are those operated and sold by Avianca.
  • Avianca reserves the right to change the amount of miles required, routes and flights available for upgrades to Business Class without prior notice.
  • Upgrade redemption for LifeMiles members is available through Information Centers and Call Center.
